Terms of use

The Festivalist is a directory of music festivals. We publish dates, locations, lineups, ticket information and links, and we mark clearly whether each date is one we have confirmed or one we have estimated.

We are not affiliated with the festivals listed, we do not organise them, and we do not sell tickets to them.

Getting dates right is the entire point of this site, and we say explicitly when a date is our estimate rather than an announcement. Even so, festivals move, sell out, change venue and get cancelled, and we will not always know first.

Confirm with the festival before you spend money. Do not book flights, hotels or time off on the strength of a date you read here without checking the festival’s own site. We provide this information as-is and cannot accept liability for travel, tickets or other costs incurred because something here was out of date or wrong.

If you spot something incorrect, tell us — it genuinely helps, and we would rather know. How each fact is sourced and checked in the first place is set out in our methodology.

You need an account to save festivals. You are responsible for what happens under it, and for keeping access to the email address you use to sign in.

Your saved festivals are yours. We do not show them to anyone else, and we never add anything to your calendar on your behalf.

You can delete your account at any time by emailing hello@thefestivalist.com. We may close an account that is used to abuse the service or other people.

Browse it, link to it, use it to plan your year. Please do not scrape it wholesale, attempt to disrupt it, or use it in a way that breaks the law.

Our own writing, design and the way we have organised this information are ours. Festival names, logos and artwork belong to the festivals, and we show them to identify the events we are writing about.

We link to festival websites and ticket sellers. What happens on those sites is between you and them, and their terms apply there.

Some ticket links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects which festivals we list, what we say about them, or the order they appear in — those decisions are made before any commercial arrangement is considered. Where such links exist we say so.

We may change the site or these terms. If we change the terms materially we will update the date above and say so on the site.
