Sleigh Bells for Splendour?

Rumours are rife that Sleigh Bells may play Splendour in the Grass 2012
Derek Miller and Alexis Krauss

Derek Miller, one half of American noise pop duo, Sleigh Bells, recently insinuated in an interview with Triple J that, despite having no Australian dates slated for 2012 yet, the band will indeed be visiting down under not once but twice this year. This news has got the rumour mill rife with speculation that the band might be playing Splendour in the Grass this year.

Sleigh Bells have already received critical acclaim for their 2012 sophomore album, Reign of Terror and would make a great addition to the three-day camping festival, which will this year return to its hometown Byron Bay after two years holidaying up at Woodfordia, Woodford.

We love Alexis Krauss' syrupy vocals and Derek Miller's abrasive instrumentation so our fingers are well and truly crossed for an Australian rendez-vous or two for this duo, especially if one of them involves a slot at Splendour.
