Real Estate are the five-piece indie band hailing from New Jersey and based out of Brooklyn. The Garden State natives formed in 2008, with their dreamy brand of guitar pop making waves overseas. Newcomers to our turf, though, the band will kick off their debut Australian tour early next year, slated to play as part of the stellar Golden Plains Sixxx line-up in March. The tour is to promote their second album, Days (2011), which has met with rave reviews, solidifying the band's style as a catchy blend of breezy pop and nostalgic guitar, reminiscent of lazy days in the sunshine.
To accompany their appearance at Golden Plains, the band has just announced three sideshows along the East Coast, in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. If you aren't already familiar with the band, they are definitely worth a watch! You might remember them from their appearance on Stroked, a tribute to The Strokes' debut album, Is This It. Real Estate's cover of 'Barely Legal' and the video accompanying it are quite beautiful, like their music itself.
Days provides the perfect soundtrack for lazy summer afternoons. Think dappled sunshine and sandy beaches.
