OMFG DON'T PANIC

Big Day Out promoter Ken West vs Auckland City Council
Odd Future

Ken West has urged people with an 'OMFG DON'T PANIC' statement, issued in response to Auckland City Council leaking that Odd Future will no longer be appearing at the Auckland Big Day Out due to lobbyist groups.

According to West, Odd Future will still be playing the Australian Big Day Out tour, and the festival giant is still in discussions with the super hyped, highly controversial rap group for a solo show in Auckland. After all, as West pointed out in his statement, the last time Odd Future were in Australia, they played for the government at Vivid festival.

The group reportedly pulled out of their NZ Big Day Out gig due to the repercussions of gay activist Calum Bennachie voicing concerns over the 'extremely homophobic, misogynistic and hateful lyrics' of the group, reminding one and all of the Beanie Man line-up cut from 2010 due to similar reasons.

There ain't nothing like a good controversy to get your adrenaline pumping.
